  1. Open Settings, then tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Find the Wi-Fi network you’re currently using.
  3. Tap info (an “i” inside a circle).
  4. Tap the Password field.
  5. Use your passcode, Face ID®, or Touch ID® to unlock and reveal the password.

Whether you’re sharing your Wi-Fi with a guest, troubleshooting your internet, or connecting a new device to your home network, sometimes you need to know how to see your Wi-Fi password on your iPhone. But how do you find it? We’ll show you.

Asurion Experts can answer all your tech questions, whether your phone won’t connect to Wi-Fi or you want to secure your home Wi-Fi network. We can also explain how to use password managers. Here’s our guide on how to view your Wi-Fi password on your iPhone.

How to find Wi-Fi passwords in Settings

Your iPhone automatically connects to any Wi-Fi network you’ve previously logged into, which is helpful. But to see the Wi-Fi password, you’ll need to take a few more steps. If you have iOS 16 or later, you can use your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to see your Wi-Fi network passwords. Here’s what to do:

Find your current Wi-Fi password

  1. Open Settings, then tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Find the Wi-Fi network name you’re currently using.
  3. Tap info (an “i” inside a circle).
  4. Tap the Password field.
  5. Use your device password, Face ID, or Touch ID to unlock and reveal the password.

Find passwords for previously connected networks

Open Settings.

  1. Tap Wi-Fi, then tap Edit in the upper-right corner to see saved Wi-Fi networks your device previously joined.
  2. Select a network with a lock, then tap the Password field.
  3. Use your device password, Face ID, or Touch ID to unlock and reveal the password.

Use the iCloud Keychain to see your Wi-Fi passwords

Still wondering, what’s my Wi-Fi password? The iCloud Keychain stores your Wi-Fi passwords and syncs them across all your Apple devices. To see your Wi-Fi passwords in the iCloud Keychain, you’ll need to use your iPhone and a Mac®:

  1. On your iPhone, open Settings> [your name] > iCloud > Passwords and Keychain and turn on iCloud Keychain.
  2. Then, on your Mac, open Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access.
  3. In the Keychain Access window, type the name of your Wi-Fi network in the top right search bar and double-click it.
  4. Check the box for Show password. You may need to enter your Mac password.

How to find the current Wi-Fi password for your Personal Hotspot

If want to use your iPhone to see the current password for your Personal Hotspot, follow these steps: Open Settings > Personal Hotspot to see the Wi-Fi password. Looking for an easy way to share your W-Fi password with someone you trust? Check out our guide on how to share your home network info with a QR code.
